How does booking online work?

Simply click the ‘book now’ button, and our online booking system will guide you through the process of booking your studio with us.

The process includes registering your details and making payment, so make sure you have your information and institute offer letter to hand. Once you’re booked you’ll receive an email from us to confirm your rental terms, and we look forward to meeting you when you arrive!

Alternatively if you’d like our team to guide you through the process we can do just that:

  • Complete our online enquiry form and one of our friendly team members will get in touch to find out more about your needs and share availability and pricing.
  • We will then host you online or in person for a viewing.
  • Once you’ve decided which studio style you want to book and your preferred payment terms, we’ll set up registration for you online and share your contract.
  • Once the contract is signed and your first payment is made, we’ll make sure your studio is prepared and ready for your arrival.

Our studios are all inclusive and your tenancy includes all utilities and wifi. We are also one of the few that provide a mattress protector, duvet, pillows and standard bedding.

Each studio includes:

  • Kitchenette with mix of cupboards and drawers. Compete with hob, oven, kettle, sink (hot and cold running water) and extractor fan
  • ¾ size double bed with mattress
  • Bedside tables
  • Casual seating
  • Desk and office chair
  • Wardrobe
  • Full-length mirror
  • En-suite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet
  • Storage area for towels in bathroom
  • Plug points throughout
  • Bedside lights and movable desk lighting
  • Blinds and/or curtains at all windows
  • Comfortable chair
  • Mattress protector, duvet, pillows and bedding

We offer 51-week tenancies for contracts starting in September or 33-week tenancy contracts for students joining us for January intake. Depending on availability there may also be scope for shorter tenancies. Please speak to one of the team about your requirements.

Once you’ve booked, it’s now time to think about what you need to make your room your own!

You’ll need:

  • Iron / ironing board
  • Pans and cooking utensils
  • Crockery and cutlery
  • Hairdryer

All of the above can be purchased from nearby retailers when you arrive, or else we offer several optional services at a small additional cost to help make it even easier to settle into life at Bauhaus. These include room cleaning, grab and go pastry breakfasts and kitchen starter sets.

You can book your accommodation with us at any time throughout the year.

You can cancel your tenancy agreement up to 7 days after the date of your booking (the Initial Cancellation Period).  Any refund will be paid in full minus an £80 administration fee which will be deducted from the refunded amount to cover any international bank charges for deposit refunds made to non-UK banks.

Outside of the Initial Cancellation Period, we are also in a position to release you from your tenancy agreement if you fail to obtain the required qualifications to get into university. In any other circumstance the student and guarantor (if applicable) will be held to the tenancy.

Once the tenancy has been accepted the tenancy cannot be cancelled and both tenant and guarantor (if applicable) will remain fully responsible for any payments due. Rent will continue to be payable up to the end of the tenancy agreement.

Bauhaus Student may consider releasing you from your tenancy if you find an alternative student to take over your studio. In this instance you must inform Bauhaus Student as soon as possible and we reserve the right not to accept any nominated replacement. Please note that a release charge may apply.

Any cancellation requests must be received in writing to [email protected].

Yes, please get in touch to arrange an in-person or video viewing with the Bauhaus support team.

No deposit is taken but a breakage/replacement fee may be charged for any items broken by a student during their stay. This may be charged at the time or during the tenancy period.  Your contract will list example breakage / replacement fees and a member of the Bauhaus support team can also advise once they’ve spoken to you about the breakage.

Depending on availability we will do our best to accommodate this request. Contact [email protected]

We can check you into your studio between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday.  This allows the team sufficient time to familiarise you with building and provide a full induction.

Rent payments can be made in instalments of up to 10 payments throughout the duration of your tenancy, depending on the length of your stay with us.

For 1 or 2 instalments, no UK guarantor is required. For 3 – 10 payments, a UK guarantor is required.

If you’d like to book with instalments of 3-10 payments but don’t have a valid UK guarantor we work with Leap, a guarantee waiver scheme which can be set up as part of your contract with us.

Use of Leap will result in a small increase to your payments but it is great way to secure a more affordable payment plan in the absence of a relevant UK guarantor being available.

All payments must be made by BACS.

A guarantor is a nominated person who accepts the tenancy alongside the tenant and guarantees to pay rent or any other monies which are owed if the tenant can’t pay.

Students choosing to pay rent in 3-10 instalments will need a guarantor. A guarantor must be a permanent UK resident, employed and have no record of CCJs or Court Orders.

Bauhaus Student reserves the right to decline a guarantor if they are not deemed suitable.

In this situation the student can:

  • Provide an alternative guarantor
  • Pay all of their rent in 1 or 2 instalments

Bauhaus Student’s top priority is making sure you have a comfortable and safe stay, so please declare any medical information or disabilities on your application.

Bauhaus Student has a number of accessible studio types and facilities. When creating your application, please make sure you let us know and provide as much detail as possible so our teams can ensure you reserve the most suitable studio for your requirements.

Size. Specifically the floor space. Each room has the similar furniture, features, and decor, but it will differ in size.

There are some exceptions where the rooms are categorised using a mix of reasons such as location and layout as well as size. Some rooms look and feel bigger/smaller because of their shape / natural light, so we’ve taken this into consideration when categorising them.

We do not provide any TV licenses so you’ll need to register for your own TV licence.

We ask our students to set up a direct debit for their rent payments – this means you can focus on your studies, not spend time managing rent payments.

Dual occupancy is an additional £40 per week and is available with our Gold, Gold Plus, Platinum and Diamond studios, in addition to our suites.

On application, you and your roommate are asked to note that you are applying for dual occupancy and at this point the team will update the contract price accordingly. The total rent is shared equally between both you and your roommate unless agreed otherwise with the Bauhaus support team.

Our student accommodation is extremely secure. Our properties are all accessed by a fob or card system, and each room has its own secure lock. We also offer 24-hour CCTV, our Bauhaus support team are onsite from 7.30am to 5.00pm, and out of hours and weekend support via our external security provider.

Yes, only full-time students can live in our properties.

No, we do not accept family members to stay on a permanent basis. One family member can visit for a few days with prior permission from Bauhaus Student. Please speak to a member of the Bauhaus support team to discuss.

We do not provide insurance for personal items.  Students must arrange their own insurance for personal items.

There are regular and very reliable bus services to both Robert Gordon University and the University of Aberdeen, with bus stops located locally to the properties. Free bus travel is available to students under 22 years of age. The journey to both universities is approx. 20 minutes from our city centre locations.

Only assistance dogs are allowed into our properties. Pets of any kind are strictly prohibited.

Definitely!  All we ask is that the room is left in the same condition that it was when you moved in. This means that any items placed on the walls must be removed and any associated damage made good prior to checking out.

No. Your room is yours for the entire duration of your tenancy.

No. Smoking or vaping is not permitted in any part of our buildings, including individual studios and common areas.
